Dear Friends of Downtown Radio,
The New Year marks a time of fresh beginnings for many of us. For Downtown Radio it means new leadership. Jason LeValley — Downtown Radio’s Founder, Program Director, and DJ — has stepped down from all roles, effective immediately. Jason has contributed much to the growth of Downtown Radio during his tenure, so we appreciate your understanding and continued support as our community of volunteers makes this transition.
Downtown Radio is excited to embark on a new chapter for our station. As we search for a permanent replacement, we are pleased to announce that Bill Owens will serve as Interim Program Director. Bill previously served as a Board Member for Downtown Radio and is also currently one of our DJs with his show “Rock Mix,” Tuesdays 11-3.
To successfully navigate Downtown Radio’s leadership change, it truly takes a village. Our listeners, donors, volunteers, DJs, associated nonprofit organizations, and underwriters all contribute unwavering dedication to our station’s future. Our mission here at Downtown Radio has always been to connect Tucsonans to mental health services and underground music that does not have a home on corporate radio stations.
All of us at Downtown Radio thank you for your continued support of our local music community, on the air. We look forward to strengthening our relationship with you and downtown Tucson this year, with many more to follow.
Wishing you and yours a Happy New Year!
