I’m Marx Loeb AKA DJ Speelo. This is a little intro. I’ve been playing drums in Tucson since 1967. I’ve been DJing on Second Life, in the online “world” since 2007. Thanks to Jim Gasper and dj ben(k) the musical bum, I’m on KTDT spinning Jazz, Brasilian, as well as some forays into Afrobeat and Afro Cuban. I’m into a lot of genre’s really, but this is what we’re going with now.
I give my dad credit for turning me on to Jazz a long time ago. My baptism into it was Benny Goodman’s famous Carnagie Hall Shows in 1938. I listened to this as he told me he was there both nights. Thanks, Pop!
My first store bought Jazz album was Freddy Hubbard’s classic, Red Clay. I still love it, but that started my rabbit hole journey in 1970.
Brasilian music hit me in 200 with the incredible Tanto Tempo by Bebel Gilberto. I’ve been happily addicted to the stuff. Another rabbit hole for me.
